Welcome to Peaceful Minds Counseling LLC: Creating Space for More Peaceful Minds

October 28, 2026

Welcome to Peaceful Minds Counseling LLC,

I am so glad you are here. This practice was created from my passion for helping children, adolescents, adults, and families navigate life’s challenges while feeling supported, understood, and empowered along the way.

I believe therapy is not about “fixing” someone. Instead, it is about creating a safe space where

you can be heard, understood, and given the tools to better understand yourself and navigate

the world around you.

A Place for Children, Teens, Adults, and Families

At Peaceful Minds Counseling, I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families who

may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral

concerns, life transitions, family conflict, communication difficulties, and the everyday stressors

that can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Every person who walks through my door is unique, which is why I believe therapy should never

be a one-size-fits-all experience. I take the time to understand each client's individual needs,

personality, experiences, strengths, and goals and use therapeutic approaches that best fit their

journey.

Play Therapy

For children, play is often their natural language. Children may not always have the words to

explain what they are feeling or experiencing, but they can communicate through play, creativity,

and imagination.

Play therapy provides children with a safe and developmentally appropriate way to express

emotions, process difficult experiences, build coping skills, develop emotional regulation, and

work through challenges. Through play, children can explore their feelings and experiences in a

way that feels comfortable and natural to them.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

I also utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on the connection between

our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

CBT can help clients recognize unhelpful thought patterns, understand how those thoughts

influence emotions and behaviors, and develop healthier ways of responding to challenges. This

approach can be especially helpful for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, low

self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties, and other concerns.

Trauma-Focused Therapy

For individuals who have experienced trauma, I provide a supportive environment where they

can begin processing difficult experiences at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

Trauma-focused therapy can help clients understand how past experiences may continue to

affect their thoughts, emotions, behaviors, relationships, and sense of safety. My goal is to help

clients develop healthy coping skills, rebuild a sense of safety and control, and move toward

healing without feeling rushed or pressured.

Person-Centered Therapy

At the heart of my therapeutic approach is person-centered therapy. I believe that every

individual has strengths, abilities, and the capacity for growth.

My role is to provide a space built on empathy, acceptance, respect, and understanding. I want

clients to feel that they can come into therapy as their authentic selves without fear of judgment.

Together, we can identify your goals and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels

right for you.

Supporting the Whole Family

I believe that when a child or adolescent is struggling, the entire family can be affected. At the

same time, when families learn new ways to communicate and support one another, everyone

can benefit.

I work with parents and caregivers to help them better understand their child's emotional and

behavioral needs while developing strategies that can be used outside of the therapy room.

Family work may focus on communication, emotional regulation, behavior, parenting

strategies, relationships, conflict resolution, and strengthening connections within the

family.

My goal is not to place blame, but to help families understand one another and create healthier,

more supportive relationships.

From School-Based Therapist to Private Practice Owner

Before opening Peaceful Minds Counseling, I spent eight years working as a school-based

therapist. During those years, I had the privilege of working closely with children, adolescents,

parents, teachers, and families.

Working in schools taught me so much about the many factors that can affect a child's

emotional and behavioral well-being. I saw firsthand that children don't exist in isolation. Their

experiences at home, school, and within their relationships can all impact how they feel and

behave.

My years as a school-based therapist also allowed me to develop a deep appreciation for

working with families and helping everyone have a voice in the therapeutic process.

Eventually, I knew I wanted to create something of my own—a practice where I could have the

flexibility to provide therapy in a way that truly reflects my values and approach. That vision

became Peaceful Minds Counseling LLC.

The Story Behind the Name: Peaceful Minds

The name Peaceful Minds is deeply connected to how I view mental health.

When I think about what life can sometimes feel like, I picture a chaotic brain—thoughts racing

in different directions, emotions competing for attention, responsibilities piling up, and life

happening all at once. Sometimes it can feel like there are a hundred tabs open in your mind

and you don't know which one to focus on first.

As a therapist, my goal isn't necessarily to make life perfectly calm or eliminate every difficult

thought or emotion. Life will always have challenges.

Instead, I want to help people find more peace within the chaos.

Therapy can be a place to slow things down, understand what is happening beneath the

surface, organize those thoughts and emotions, and develop tools to navigate life's challenges

with greater confidence.

That is what Peaceful Minds means to me: creating a space where you can take a breath, feel

understood, and begin finding your way toward a calmer and more balanced mind.

The Person Behind the Practice

While I am passionate about being a therapist, therapy is only one part of who I am.

Outside of the office, I am a mom to two young children, ages 3 and 5, and I have been

married to my husband for 13 years. Our home is also filled with plenty of love and a little bit of

chaos thanks to our dog and three cats!

Being a mom has given me an entirely different perspective on life, relationships, patience, and

the beautiful—and sometimes messy—reality of raising children. My family is incredibly

important to me, and I cherish the time we spend together.

When I'm not working, one of my favorite things to do is simply be outside with my kids.

Whether we're exploring, playing, going on adventures, or just enjoying time together, those

moments are some of my favorites.

Dance Has Always Been Part of My Life

Another huge part of who I am is dance.

I grew up dancing, and dance has truly been a lifelong passion. I continued dancing throughout

college, had the incredible opportunity to dance at Disney, and spent four years as an Ice

Angel.

Dance has taught me so much about discipline, perseverance, confidence, expression, and the

importance of finding something that brings you joy. It has been a constant throughout many

different seasons of my life.

Although my career eventually led me into the mental health field, dance remains a meaningful

part of who I am. I think there is something special about having an outlet where you can

express yourself, let go, and simply be present in the moment.

My Hope for Peaceful Minds Counseling

My hope is that Peaceful Minds Counseling becomes more than just a place where people

come for therapy. I want it to be a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where people

feel comfortable being themselves.

Whether you are a parent looking for support for your child, a teenager trying to make sense of

big emotions, an adult feeling overwhelmed by life, or a family working to strengthen your

relationships, you don't have to navigate everything alone.

Sometimes finding peace doesn't mean changing everything around you. Sometimes it starts

with having someone beside you who can help you make sense of the chaos.

That is what Peaceful Minds Counseling is here to do.

I am so grateful to begin this new chapter and look forward to walking alongside the individuals

and families who trust me with their stories.
